Survive and thrive!

Page 2 and 3! And now, off to visit the folks for a week!

I survived!

And now I am on holiday and was finally able to spend a whole day NOT at my cintiq! And not sick! (Two colds in one month? Plus crazy busy with work? Suck-fest.) Today I spent the whole day in my kitchen doing Christmas baking, so the apartment smells great! And to prevent myself from eating the entire lot, I will be taking the lion's share to the studio for all the nerds and artists. :)

I've been having a great time diving into my new favourite ships, which has lately included a brief but bright love affair with James Bond/Q. But! I always return to my first love, Bruce/Jim. And just to prove that I haven't lost my will to finish my Batman Beyond comic, here is the first page. ... of 37. Actually, I changed up the ending, so I think it's 38 pages now. When will it really be done? Who knows! Not soon! I said I wouldn't just post it a page at a time, but if it's gonna take this long, I might as well.

Anyway, a very happy holidays to everyone and all the very best for a bright and shiny 2013!

No time for sketching!

So, I finally dove down the rabbit hole that is Charles/Erik fic. Some really excellent writing for those two. I really should've been working diligently today, but I had to doodle a bit. I'm afraid this is all there is for now (In fact, I should be working right now instead of goofing off). So here it is!

Still alive

Well, no new doodles, I'm afraid. And no more work done on the comic. My new contract is eating up my whole life. (Thanks, Disney! >_<) Fortunately, I only have to survive until January, then I'm taking some time off. I'll try to draw something for the blog over the long weekend.

Has everyone seen this webcomic? I'm in love with it. http://jl8comic.tumblr.com/

The butter zone

I have joined the 21 century! This is my new baby, a Cintiq 22HD. Yup, yup. I'll have to use it mostly for work, but I couldn't resist doing some more on the comic tonight. :D

Holiday sketchdump #6

Some of the Batman poses were taken directly from Bruce Timm's book 'Mad Love'.  Learn by copying the masters, as they say. Oh, and the Avengers cartoon has really grown on me. Obviously.

Back from vacation.

I seriously needed about three more weeks off after finishing that last job, but the next one starts up on monday. So, yay, money. :P
I got a lot of sketching done with my holiday, which I'll scan and post sometime today or tomorrow. I also managed to start on the Batman Beyond comic, here's the new title page (the rest of the comic will be black and white). It's going to be a big job, so... maybe by Xmas it'll be finished? I just re-wrote the ending a bit and it added another page, but I think it'll be worth it.

Must..get..coffee..now.....

Sketchdump #4

I only have two weeks until my deadline for work and I have no idea how I'm going to get all my stuff done. I am really looking forward to going to visit my folks, so I can get a start at some projects I've been putting off. In the meantime, here are a few sketches I managed to do this week.

Waiting for Batman tee to arrive

I also ordered the Gotham PD t-shirt, which Jim is sporting here. (Colour palette lifted directly from tv series).

Coulson/Barton sketchdump #2

Ok. I think it's out of my system now.

Agent Coulson and Hawkeye

Another Clint/Phil sketch. I've been reading too much fanfic, when I'm supposed to be working in the evenings.

UPDATE: I got sad seeing all the prettily coloured drawings on Deviant Art and tried it out. Not sure I'm happy with it.

Sketch dump

I am crazy stressed out with work right now, so I'm afraid I haven't had much time for fun drawing. I have been reading some great Avengers fanfic, though, that really got my pencil going today. And, of course, I'm still obsessive compulsive about Brim. (The comic idea with Renee catching them in the closet I will be returning to later).
